The graphics have improved and things look more realistic. For example, harvesting grain looks like grain and where you position the trailer lets the product build up in that part of the trailer before spreading out. Another example is that you can see the tire tracks on the ground, which is awesome. Another improvement is physics. The last game you could easily flip things over, but in this there is more weight and you can even feel a fully loaded trailer struggling to go up a hill. There are more vehicles, like a semi truck and forestry equipment, and more things to do, like cutting down trees with a chainsaw. You do have two maps to play as well, so there's more possibilities. Of course this game is fully moddable so there's even more trucks, tractors, and equipment to get for the game! I would recommend this game if you like farming sims. Trust me, this is quite the improvement from '13.. Love the game, but to call it a simulator is not correct. As a former dairy farmer I can say that if it was this easy in real life, I`d still be doing it...I`m sure that if I jump in my tractor right now (Case IH 2007) and steer it into a brick wall that would be the end for it. AND ever so often it needs service, I can't just drive and drive forever on it. This "simulator" lacks the realism of real life farming and should therefore be called a farming/driving/arcade game!But still, Its a great GAME that I can recommend to all who is interested in farming.Updated 09.04.15:Hopefully this review update takes care of my unfortunate misspelling of the word "tractor". I live in Norway where our native, and first language is Norwegian, so I`m sorry if my spelling and/or grammar is a bit off when it comes to English.. I bought this farmihg simulator game to continue the saga of farming simulator gaming and they each one is better than llast.I would highly recomend this game to all who like farming, the lumber cutting,and the hard work to keep up the bio energy plant.. Even real farmers play Farming Simulator! Whilst it is still a little way from being a simulator in the true sense of the word (for example, gears are not fully simulated, tractors do not show real damage, crops grow too fast and its a bit too easy to make money), nevertheless, the positives far outweigh the negatives, and for every weakness, there are many realistic features. It's great fun if you have any interest in farming and you like the productive strategy type game rather than the fast paced shooters. I worked on a farm many years ago, and I played with Britains farm toys as a kid. This game, 40yr later, allows me to own and drive any type of tractor & implement, and farm any crop, & the physics and graphics are easily good enough to bring back the memories of driving the real thing. Giants also give good support, they updated FS2013 regularly, so I hope to see the same improvements and developments in this one;and they offer good (many free) addon mods form time to time.It's also very moddable, so if there is an aspect that lets the game down, it is very likely that someone has added a mod to fix it, or else you can do it yourself. For example, it is not difficult to edit the start machinery and funds, or to change growth rate or values to make the game more difficult, or even to create your own map with a bit of learning. Stand by to be labelled a farm nerd (similar to trainspotter), but that matters not to me. Excellent game, worth at least 8 out of 10 on release, and expecting that to rise with future patches. :). I Don't have much time on this game as most people do but I have played alot on the console version. For a take on an agricultural theme I would say they did very well it goes fairly in depth to the aspects of farming but there is also a modding side to this game and it can go from people who take farming very seriously to people who don't care and make outrageous mods but it depends on your mood for that day. Overall I would say this game is definetly worth buying. Awesome game. Highly recommend this game if you like farming or just a fun game to play anyway. Love it and cant wait for FS17 to come out at the end of the year.. i need work on my farm. Overall, a good game. You can't play with the same license key as a client on a server." - Dedicated Server DocumentationThis should be unacceptable from any game developer, as dedicated server support should be a selling point of the game, not a way of leeching money from your playerbase.The idea of rentable multiplayer servers is fine, as it is an option for anyone without the resources to host their own. However, requiring that an entirely separate copy of the game be purchased, with the soul purpose of running a dedicated server, NOT playing the game, should not be tolerated. To add to this, Steam does not even support owning two copies of the game, you would either have to buy it through another retailer, or create another Steam account just for the purpose of running a dedicated server.I am absolutely appalled by the fact this is accepted by the community. Games like Minecraft, Terraria, Team Fortress 2, Half Life, Just Cause 2, and an entire list of games providing the means for runing a dedicated server included with the purchase of the game. Mod support will only get you so far when you spit back in the face of the same player base with a policy like this.As an end-user, great game. As someone in IT who cares about the direction games are headed, 3/10. Most people with look over this and blow it off because it does not affect them. However, if you play any multiplayer in this game, someone, somewhere has paid extra to allow you to.This will be the last game by Giants I will own unless changes are made in the future.
